The Department of Urology at Dalhousie University in Canada conducted a study of 946 vasectomy patients. Of those tested, 47.9% of men did not submit a negative semen sample after their procedure. 15.7% submitted 1 sample and 36.4% submitted the required 2 negative samples to confirm a successful vasectomy. These numbers prove poor patient compliance despite written and verbal reminders.
